Family Friendly Fishing on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula

~ The Kenai River ~

The Kenai River, located on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, is the Alaskan equivalent of the Fresh Water Fishing Capital of Alaska. More anglers travel to this river every year than to any other river in Alaska in pursuit of the World Class Fishing that this river offers.

The Kenai is divided into three sections each with its own rewards. Silverhook Sportfishing offers trips to all three of these fishing areas.

Upper Kenai River - Full Day and Half Day Trips Available
June through September

The upper section of the Kenai River begins at the mouth of Kenai Lake where this powerful river begins its majestic decent into the Chugach National Forest.

Fishing this regally scenic section of river by drift boat offers excellent opportunities to catch Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden while utilizing
fly and spin casting techniques.

The Upper Kenai River also boasts the opportunity to fish for the elusive
Sockeye (Red) Salmon from the banks as they continue their journey
to their spawning grounds.

Our full day Middle Kenai River trips begin at the mouth of Skilak Lake and end at Bing’s Landing.

This section of the river offers us the opportunity to drift through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and is home to trophy size Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden, both of which are fished for on a catch and release basis.

As the mighty Kenai River is preparing to end its journey into Cook Inlet, the lower section boasts an amazing opportunity to land a massive King Salmon as well as wrestle with the acrobatic Silver Salmon.
