What should I wear?   What should I bring?

Due to unpredictable Alaskan weather, we advise dressing in layers, which will allow you to stay warm and dry as the outdoor environment changes.

You'll also need to bring rain gear, a warm jacket, sweater, hat, gloves, an Alaskan fishing license, lunch and drinks.

The local staff can assist in ordering lunches in advance so they are fresh the morning you depart on your trip.

Is my Guide Certified to be on the Kenai River?

Yes! The Kenai River Guide Academy — taught at Kenai Peninsula College along the banks of the Kenai River — is a 5-day course that is required for all fishing guides that plan to guide clients.

Beginning in 2007, guides must pass the course in order to receive an Alaska Department of Parks and Outdoor Recreation commercial operator permit to guide on the Kenai River.
